Ashton Prairie Insect Intern

Carter is a 3rd year Environmental Science major on the Bioscience track. He grew up on a farm outside of a small town in Northern Iowa. In his free time Carter likes to garden and go on bike rides with his friends. Initially Carter was a Journalism major, but after discovering a passion for the environment he changed his major and hasn’t looked back. At the beginning of this year Carter and a group of other students restarted the Environmental Science Club, of which he is now the activities coordinator. After talking to Dr. Swanson, Carter became interested in doing research at the Ashton Prairie on moths. He was then introduced to Dr. Forbes, who has mentored and guided him through the research process. Carter looks forward to working on his research this summer along with running a malaise trap for Dr. Forbes at Ashton Prairie.
