Winter Warrior Challenge Winners

Winter Warrior Challenge 2015 wrap-up
This December, Bicyclists in the Iowa City/Coralville community participated in the University of Iowa's Winter Warrior Challenge, showing that riding a bike is healthy, fun and environmentally-sound way to commute to work or class, even in winter.
The UI Bike Advisory Committee encouraged people to bike to work or class as long as they felt safe and comfortable from Nov. 30 to Dec. 21. Cyclists logged their trips and mileage, competing for winter bike gear and services from local bike shops. The 41 Winter Warriors logged 2,470 miles and 703 trips.
It was a great time to bike with higher than normal temperatures! Even though the challenge was only for two weeks, you can still bike after the challenge ends! We heard from many participants who bike year-round. See these tips for finding the right protective clothing and gear, selection of equipment and safe biking in varied weather conditions.
Thanks to all our sponsors who provided some great prizes!
